The blue tongue lizard is one of Australia’s most iconic reptiles. Inhabiting woodlands and grasslands where there is plenty of ground cover such as tussock grasses, rocks or logs, it may also be seen in suburban parks and back yards.
Confronted by a predator, the blue tongue lizard attempts to scare its foe by opening its pink mouth wide and sticking out its broad, blue tongue!
