2019 Canada 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Incuse $5 NGC MS-69 (Early Releases)PRODUCT ID: 16142
The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf series dates back to 1988 and is among the world's most collected bullion coins. Marking its 30th anniversary in 2018, the Royal Canadian Mint issued an incuse counterpart to the standard bullion version. The new coins was received exceptionally well by collectors, so the new series has been reissued in 2019. Part of a mintage of a quarter of a million coins, this piece was struck from one ounce of .9999 fine silver.
- Contains 1 oz of .9999 Fine Silver.
- Queen Elizabeth II, Canada's head of state, features on the obverse. The image, which was designed by Susanna Blunt, shows the monarch facing the right side of the coin wearing earrings and a necklace. Striking a note of independence, the design does not include a tiara or crown. The monarch's name, "ELIZABETH II," is inscribed above her portrait, while the coin's face value, "5 DOLLARS," and date, "2019," are included below it.
- On the reverse is one of Canada's most recognizable national symbols, the maple leaf. The design is simple in concept and intricate in execution, making for a stunning image that has contributed to the popularity of the bullion coin over the past three decades. "CANADA" is inscribed at the top, and the coin's purity, "9999," is provided to the left and right. English and french inscriptions at the bottom offer the coin's weight, "FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR."
